Base Level RV Camping

While many would argue that RV camping in and of itself is a form of glamping, there are ways to challenge yourself to use your outdoor knowledge and skills to get a more authentic camping experience.

Build a Fire - We have fire pits set up at our RV sites, but you can work to challenge yourself by starting a fire from scratch. Create your tinder nest, and practice striking your starters against each other. Flint and steel wool are popular ways to start fires from “scratch” for campers, even at RV sites.
Cook Outdoors Only - Challenge yourself to cook all your meals and warm everything over your fire outside. While you can take advantage of the luxuries that RV camping offers, you can also take advantage of spending time outdoors while cooking. Use your camp knife to chop whatever you need, and do your best to rely on nature instead of modern amenities.
Limit Your Use of the RV to Sleeping - Spend as little time inside as possible! Enjoy the sounds of nature instead of a speaker playing music, go for a walk instead of sitting inside, and stay outside at night to catch a view of the stars.
