Perfectly adjacent to Old Faithful, the Upper Geyser Basin is a must see attraction. This area holds more than 250 geysers including one of its most famous geysers the colorful Morning Glory Pool.
At the Upper Geyser Basin you will find easy to access boardwalks. You will also see some amazing hydrothermal activity frequent eruptions. This area is one of the most photo genic spots near West Yellowstone. Make sure you make it a priority to stop if you are already near Old Faithful.


4. Old Fathful Inn
"A National Treasure"
If you will be stopping at Old Faithful, we highly recommend making the 100 yard walk over to the Old Faithful Inn. We view the Inn as a national treasure hosting United States Presidents like Calvin Coolidge and Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Even if you don’t plan a stay overnight we advise you to step inside and check out the rustic architecture. If your hungry stop by and check out the Bear Paw Deli, or the Inn’s dining room. You may even be able to catch a geyser eruption from the balcony.
5. Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone
"Big Canyon"
Drive for just 40 minutes from West Yellowstone. You will see natural wonders shaped by the Yellowstone River.
Enjoy beautiful views, waterfalls, and large cliffs. If you are looking for a scenic view you can get from the car this drive is going to take your breath away. The area offers many trails and lookout points.


6. Lower Yellowstone River Falls
"The Grand Fall"
The Lower Yellowstone River Falls are the tallest falls in the park. These falls are over 300 feet high, which is twice the height of Niagara Falls.
You can see them from different spots around the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. They are visible from both the North and South Rim drives. For the best photo op, hike to the Brink of the Lower Falls Trail for a top-down view that’s worth every step.
7. Artist Point
"Lookout Point"
Artist Point is one of the most famous viewpoints in Yellowstone. It offers a perfect frame of the canyon and Lower Falls. Artist Point is a short walk from the parking lot at the South Rim. It is a must-see for tourists and photographers.
