Henry’s Lake Activities

Part of the great enjoyment of RV camping is visiting all the beautiful attractions nearby. Just 15 minutes down the road from Yellowstone RV Park is Henry’s Lake. Henry’s Lake is a perfect place to spend a day out in nature. The lake itself is about 4 miles long and is surrounded by the refreshing greenery of trees, grass, and other plants and vegetation. Around this blue water lake, you may even be lucky to spot moose, antelope, swans, pelicans, and sandhill cranes. You better have your camera ready just in case!

Henry’s Lake Fishing

Henry’s Lake is a fisher’s dream. In this lake, you will discover a variety of fish including cutthroat trout, brook trout, and cut-bow hybrid trout. If you are lucky you may even catch all three in the same day! At this lake, there are many locations for trout fishing on the dock, on the beach, or even on the water. This is the perfect location for fishers of all levels; the experienced all the way down to the beginners. You can come here for some good kids fishing, family fishing, relaxing alone time fishing, or some exciting advanced fishing.

There are many reasons to try fishing while on your RV camping adventure; here are three. The first is that it is a stress relief to simply spend the day out in nature. Second, fishing is an experience that offers you the chance to bond with the people you go fishing with. Learn together, laugh together, relax together, and talk all day long. Taking a walk out in nature will help you to relieve stress, improve your mood, and simply enjoy the fresh outdoors and scenery around you. Mountain Biking

Mountain biking is another popular activity out at Henry’s Lake. The very same trails that can be used for nature walks are also popularly used as mountain biking trails. Other popular mountain biking trails nearby that may be worth looking into include Divide Road, Targee Creek Trail, Sawtell Peak Trail, Coffee Pot Rapids Trail, Boundary Trail, Howard Creek Trail, Box Canyon Trail, Harriman State Park, and Flat Canyon Trail.

Kayaking

Prefer to be out on the water? Taking a kayak out on the lake is a must for all you water lovers. Bring your kayak out to Henry’s Lake for an excellent low impact workout while enjoying the scenery. Kayaks, rafts, and paddleboard rentals are available nearby at Experience Island Park or High Mountain Adventures in Island Park.

Fun Facts

Not only is Henry’s Lake a popular spot for trout fishing during the summer, but it is an extremely popular spot in the winter to go ice trout fishing. Bring your ice fishing rods, a drill, bait, and some very warm clothes and get ready to catch some of the best trout in the state of Idaho.
